GOOGLE PARTNER WITH SONGZA WITH PLANS TO OVERTAKE APPLE AND SPOTIFY’S STREAMING SERVICE

It has been announced that technology giants Google have formed a partnership with Songza.

Songza is a music start-up company that claims to create bespoke playlists inline with people’s moods, offering a unique music experience to all that sign up.

In a statement, Songza said: “We can’t think of a better company to join in our quest to provide the perfect soundtrack for everything you do.”

Many feel this latest move to be yet another attempt to enhance the Google Play venture, the streaming service that lives in the shadows of great competition.

Spotify and Apple lord this industry and no matter what Google Play seem to be doing music lovers do not appear to be shifting over to stream music through them.

Apple is definitely showing no sign of welcoming competition, recently buying rapper Dr Dre’s Beats Music for an astounding £1.8bn.

It has been predicted that Google will incorporate Songza into Google Play, or as part of its upcoming subscription service for video site YouTube.

With so much going on in the streaming world these three companies will be fighting for the top stop amidst announcements that streaming will be incorporated into the official charts, illustrating a huge shift in the way we connect with music.

What do you think about Google Play? Does it come close to contending with Apple or Spotify?
