GOOGLE LAUNCH NEW DOMAIN NAME REGISTER SERVICE

As we are all aware Google are a secretive bunch, constantly launching updates and new services that we are not expecting.

The search giants have this week launched its new domain name registration service, again expanding their already huge offering of diverse services.

Trying their hand at the domain register business we at SEO News do not doubt its success in the slightest, knowing that their innovative approach to technology will put them pegs ahead of any of their competitors.

Carrying out extensive market research Google found that over 55% of small businesses still do not have a website, creating Google Domains to make some money from these shocking statistics.

Google do not seem to be rushing this venture, still in an invite-only beta mode.

Google Domains will offer services such as domain forwarding, customisable sub-domains as well as no-cost private registration. It will also offer hundreds of new domains such as .guru and .photography, creating up to 100 email addresses for the domain of choice.

This will give way to great business potential for those choosing to select Google Domains for registration.

In a statement Google said:

‘Google Domains isn’t fully-featured yet, but we’re giving a small group of people the ability to buy and transfer domains through it and send feedback on their experience. (You currently need an invitation code to do so, sorry!) We want input on all the ways we can help make finding, buying, transferring and managing a domain a simple and transparent experience.’

The site lists a $12 annual registration fee at present, a competitive price when matched against other organisations of this nature. It does seem that Google’s current preoccupation revolves around what the customer experiences by choosing them to purchase and sell domain names.

‘We also want to make sure our customer support and infrastructure works flawlessly, and that we have the right additional services (like mobile website creation tools and hosting services from a range of providers, as well as domain management support). We’re working with some of the top website building providers like +Shopify, +Squarespace, +Weebly, and +Wix.com to help make that happen.’
