COULD MOBO LIVE ON MARS?

MOBO Media

Although sparking widespread criticism from scientists and space luminaries the Mars One mission is nonetheless an amazing project; one that we at MOBO are slightly obsessed with. The privately-funded one-way mission hopes to establish a permanent human colony on the red planet, starting and maintaining life on Mars.

While the 100 astronauts chosen have 12 years to gear up for the mission to Mars we wondered whether the MOBO team would survive life on the planet, here is what they said.

Alex Wigmore – Company Director

‘I wouldn’t go yet, the first generations are never the best, *cough* Apple Watch *cough* – let’s wait for 2nd gen.

I would however love getting away from humanity but would miss technology updates and fast internet connection.

It would be fun to set all the new records though – fastest person to do a rubiks cube on Mars, fastest person to run up the big hill on mars etc.’

Tej Randeva – Company Director

‘I would go depending on the people going with me. If they’re annoying people like Touker Suleyman from Dragons Den – then I’m out!!

I would have to have (fast) Wifi all the way.. there and back.

I’d like to have the option to buy some prime locations there. That’s quite normal for any Indian person. Even though anyone can buy land via https://www.moonestates.com/

Hraday Joshi – Web Developer

‘I wouldn’t go. Because there will be no fast internet, less amount of technology so more hard work than smart work plus its bit cold there (at night -72C).

I would miss family, friends, new technology and obviously Game of Thrones.

I wold however love to be there because it will be very quiet, peaceful and less polluted.’

Kyle – Graphic Designer

‘Personally I wouldn’t go, even though I am interested in space exploration. Lets explore our own planet more first.

I’d miss technology, family and meeting new people way too much.

Also travelling for 7 to 8 months there’s only a limited amount of coffee you can take.’

Abigail Moses – Head of Content

‘I could not think of anything worse than one, going in a rocket and two living in a world where I cannot watch The Inbetweeners or be with my dog, so for those reasons I am giong to decline.’

Let us know what you think, would you go to Mars? While you think about it enjoy a bit of Bowie.
