IKEA ROLL OUT WEBSITE REDESIGN

Being such an iconic brand in the world of furniture the Swedish firm, Ikea, are focusing on their digital presence, slowly rolling out an international website redesign. Trialling the latest version on their Irish site the pilot met and exceeded expectations, with new features building on the brand values without compromising the company image.

Updates include a new fully responsive system, enabling shoppers to work on various devises including smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops.

Informed by strenuous research Ikea tested the new design, focusing on customer interaction and bounce rates, all to ensure they could deliver the best, helpful service through its official websites. Receiving an incredible response Ikea now plans to roll out an international redesign, with their developers set to refresh their many websites in the very near future.

An IKEA spokesperson said: “In September 2015, IKEA Ireland piloted a new website design. We can now confirm that we are now extending the pilot to the UK from September 13th 2016. The development of our website will support in our direction of creating a seamless shopping experience from the digital through to the physical meeting with our customers.

“During the pilot in Ireland we gained a lot of useful insights from our customers and co-workers that we have taken into the development of the website. We will now launch the new website for customers in the UK including the possibility to shop online. The extended pilot will allow us to finalise the development so that we are ready to roll out globally in the near future.”
