GOOGLE UPDATE ON ITS WAY?

MOBO Media

As avid web enthusiasts we are constantly monitoring the fluctuation of Google ranking, attempting to understand the minefield that it website positioning.

The placing of your site is so important in regards to business success with consumer behaviour studies proving its significance.

Over the years we have found that searchers only select the top few websites offered to them on Google, ignoring adverts and trusting Google’s opinion of relevance.

One frustrated technology wizard commented on the subject:

‘People taught themselves to ignore banners en-mass because they found them intrusive and annoying. This is not so with adwords because rather than being un-targeted ads, they are very much on topic.’

As you can see there are lots of conflicting ideas about how we see Google but how does Google see us is also a great topic of interest. Should we have to pay Google in order to be positioned amongst our target market?

Where many see such features as SEO as a sort of witchcraft it does seem that Google’s approach to placement is a forever-changing phenomenon.

Webmaster tools is a free program that allows users to understand how Google sees their websites, providing the average techie with a window into the dark art.

Around ten days ago Webmaster users thought they recognised the shift in ranking as a Panda refresh yet Google would not confirm that this was the case.

We have witnessed many alterations over the past few days with forums going mad, trying to uncover what Google are up to.

It appears that the automated tracking tools are seeing nice spikes including Mozcast, SERPs.com and SERP Metrics.

However algoroo does not seem to agree with this theory.

If you are experiencing a constant shift in ranking then leave your comments below, we would love to hear your story.
